MONROE PLAZA WELCOMES TWO NEW TENANTS

Spectrum Orthopaedics and Coshocton Driver Training

Canton, Ohio – The popular New Philadelphia neighborhood strip center known as Monroe Plaza welcomes two (2) new tenants to the fourteen (14) tenant plaza – Spectrum Orthopaedics Physical Therapy and Coshocton Driver Training.

Spectrum Orthopaedics Physical Therapy suite is being renovated over the next two (2) months. They utilize a wide-open space for their equipment and therapy areas. Spectrum is North Canton based and has 12 highly skilled and board-certified surgeons and staff. They provide X-rays and MRI to surgical procedures and physical therapy in their Frank Rd facility in North Canton. The expect to open in October of 2018 when renovations are completed.

Coshocton Driver Training is owned and operated by Kenneth Koch. This will be his 5th location. They started in Coshocton and have added branches in Newcomerstown, Millersburg, Dresden and New Philadelphia, Ohio. They offer driver training to students and adults throughout central and southeast Ohio. They also offer on-line classes (New driver and abbreviated adult).

The Monroe Plaza has been home to Stein Optical, Tuscarawas County Chiropractic from the time it was built. Other tenants are Margo Painting, Mama C’s Restaurant, 777, Bible Baptist Church, Hair Dye-Agnostics, Advantage Home Health Services, PCCW and Inside Out Nutrition. Two (2) suites of 800 sq.ft. and 1,400 sq.ft. are available in the Monroe Plaza.

The Monroe Plaza and adjacent Monroe Mall were built in 1975 by the original three (3) partners in the Monroe Mall Associates II - Herbert Weiss, Warren Feurman and Stanley Eigner. Stan Kutz was the long-term popular manager.

In 2000, Bruening Shepler Associates, Inc., a Canton based investment firm represented by Putman Properties, Inc., purchased the Monroe Mall (92,000 sq.ft.), Monroe Plaza (23,510 sq.ft.) and the former Pondarosa restaurant on the corner now Tlaquepaque Mexican Restaurant.

In addition to a new façade on the Monroe Plaza, Putman Properties then carried out a creative turnaround of the Monroe Mall now the Monroe Centre from retail to office, medical and service welcoming new tenants The Veterans Administration – Home Based Primary Care, the Social Security Administration, State of Ohio Drivers License Exam & Deputy Register, Big Brother Big Sister, Interim Health, Word of Life, Randstad, Bible Baptist Church, Ohio Means Jobs, COAD and Fresenius Dialysis Center. Three (3) suites of 2,400 sq.ft., 4,800 sq.ft. and 6,900 sq.ft. of medical and office space is currently available in the Monroe Centre.
